Officially becoming its own city back in late 1980, Poway, California has a rich agricultural history which lives on today. In fact, Poway has such a distinct rural vibe that its widely accepted slogan of "The City in the Country" couldn't be a better way to describe this quiet, low-key San Diego County community in the eyes of most of its current and former residents.
The population of Poway is approximately 50,000 people. Despite being situated 23 miles from downtown San Diego, the commute is relatively easy via Interstate 15 and Highway 163, offering quick access to the city and a peaceful suburban environment.
